Let’s begin!

Availability

MyImprov impresses in this category because they have a defensive driving course for every state in the country.

Traffic School Comparison - Aceable vs MyImprov MyImprov

Yep, they have at least one traffic school course for each state.

Unfortunately, you can’t say the same for Aceable.

Aceable only has defensive driving courses available in 4 states. That already includes California, where you take a traffic violator course instead of a defensive driving course.

Note: just because these courses are available in your state, doesn’t mean that they’re automatically state-approved. When it comes to choosing a traffic school, make sure to look up state-specific DMV rules to know if either Aceable or MyImprov is court-approved to dismiss your ticket.

Course Options

For Aceable, 2 out of 4 of the available courses are defensive driving courses. The other one, the one for California, is a traffic violator course. And for Florida, it’s a basic driver improvement course.

MyImprov often has defensive driving courses, too. In fact, this course is the staple ticket dismissal course.

But as you’ve seen on the comparison chart above, they offer several other courses. You can even choose a regular defensive driving course or a comedic one!

User Experience

What are their defensive driving courses like?

Aceable offers a very fun and engaging way of learning defensive driving skills. Most of its students are surprised that traffic school can be that much fun.

Traffic School Comparison - Aceable vs MyImprov Aceable

How does Aceable do that?

It’s simple - they have a good mix of animations, videos, quizzes, and stories. To add to that, their stories emphasize how much better it is to be a defensive driver than an aggressive one.

As for their customer service, they’re available 24/7. Whenever you have a problem with the course or registration (which is rare), you’ll be assisted by someone who shows enthusiasm to help.

MyImprov does a great job at giving a hilarious course that’s packed with information.

You would think that since it uses a lot of comedy it will be all laughter and minimal learning. This is far from the truth.

MyImprov balances the humor and information throughout their courses. They even have quizzes at the end of every chapter.

But don’t worry, those quizzes are just 5-question reviews that will help you recall the most important parts of each chapter.

If your idea of a traffic school is all dull and hard to go through, MyImprov will beg to differ. It is the complete opposite of that.

Pricing

Aceable offers very reasonably-priced defensive driving courses. Most of them are under $45.

This online traffic school also offers a month’s free of Allstate Roadside Services which you can add to your package.

MyImprov, however, has a wider range of prices. This is mainly because they have defensive driving courses for every state.

In general, a defensive driving course will start at around $30 and can go up to anywhere around $70.

Reviews

Both Aceable and MyImprov have high reviews from their students around the country.

On Trustpilot, Aceable has 4.9/5 stars. They’re that good!!

Here are some reviews of previous Aceable students:

This was such an easy-going experience for me. Not once did I become uninterested throughout the course & I have been educated on a lot of things that I’ve never known about driving. I commend Aceable!

And people have been recommending Aceable to their friends, too!

Ya know as a whole it was a well-put-together program, and some of the humor in there was actually really funny and kept me going. I often recommend it to my friends who haven’t taken it, but most of them have, and pretty much everyone by now knows this is the app to go to if you want your ticket dismissed.

MyImprov has its fair share of excellent reviews. Based on their Shopper Approved link, this school has an average rating of 4.7/5 stars!

Here is one of the reviews:

Easy, and this website doesn't make me feel like an idiot for getting a ticket.

And it’s an affordable and enjoyable course:

Recommended by a friend. By far cheaper than any other NY state-approved driver safety course I have ever taken. Promises to be up-beat and enjoyable while driving home its message.

It’s safe to say that these two schools have a good following because their students enjoyed and learned a lot from their courses.

Features

What are the other features of these two traffic schools?

First up is MyImprov with its electronic sending of your course completion to the DMV or the court assigned to your traffic violation.

You don’t have to contact them to send you your certificate. Instead, they send it directly to the court once you pass the last exam.

They also have a downloadable mobile app that allows students to wirelessly complete their lessons!

Are you the kind of person who loves freebies? If so, you’ll love the 4 free tickets you’ll get to attend the Improv Comedy Club.

However, this isn’t a freebie for all states and courses, so best to check their website.

Aceable has a lot to boast about their features, too.

This online traffic school also has an app where you can access its courses. (It’s a lot easier to take the course from there too!)

It also sends your course completion certificate directly to the DMV or the court.

Alternatives

In most states, there are other excellent choices for an online traffic school.

Don’t get me wrong, both Aceable and MyImprov are great schools, but if you need a few more choices, then here are some I recommend.

GoToTrafficSchool is one of the contenders of the two schools here.

Aside from their good reputation in a lot of states, they also offer a twist on their defensive driving courses.

They have videos, audio clips, and simulations that will help you forget how much you dread having to go to traffic school.

The same can be said for iDriveSafely

iDriveSafely has 3D animations and simulations that make their course very realistic. It also has a fair share of interactive content which will keep you focused on the course.

Verdict

Both Aceable and MyImprov are excellent candidates for choosing a traffic school, so it’s hard to pick one.

But then again, you only need one defensive driving course to dismiss a traffic ticket.

So it comes down to what state you are in and what your preferences are.

Good luck choosing!
