As more and more traffic schools and driver education providers switch to online methods of teaching, there has been an explosion in the number of schools to choose from.

From small-scale local providers to large multi-million dollar schools, everyone seems to be jumping on the online bandwagon.

Aceable is one of the latest entrants in the online traffic school scene, which has seen immense growth over the last few years, cementing its place as a market leader.

In this review, I'll go over Aceable’s traffic school course in 2023, to see whether it's all it's cracked up to be before going into whether you should pick this school or not.

But first, an overview...

Aceable Overview

Defensive Driving School Review Aceable

Founded in 2013, Aceable has seen great success and an overwhelmingly positive customer response that has propelled it to become a fan favorite.

Aceable has set the bar high, being ranked first in customer satisfaction in the industry with a 4.9-star rating on Trustpilot based on over 20,000 reviews.

With humble beginnings in Houston, Texas, this previously small local player has attracted millions in venture capital to make a course that stands out amongst the crowd with its witty charm.

Now with more than 1000 hours of course content and a team of over 200 professionals, they've expanded far beyond the confines of Texas, offering courses in Florida, California, and more.

However, owing to their brief existence, they do lag behind in terms of how many states they're approved in.

But whether you're looking for a reduction in your insurance costs, looking to dismiss a ticket, or have to comply with a court order, Aceable's traffic school has been designed to give you the easiest way possible to complete your course.

Key Features and Approval

The key features that Aceable provide are:

  • Completely online
  • Integrated with interactive content including animations, video, and simulations
  • Comes with an in-built course guide
  • 24/7 Customer Support
  • Accessibility on all mobile devices
  • Free standard certificate delivery
  • Auto sync feature

As for approval, these are the states in which Aceable’s traffic/defensive driving course is approved in 2023:

  • California Traffic School
  • Texas Defensive Driving School
  • Florida Driver Improvement
  • Indiana Defensive Driving

Note: While different states may have different names for traffic schools they're all basically the same course.

The Good and The Bad

In this section, I’ll be talking about the benefits to studying with Aceable, as well as the cons. This way, you’ll know Aceable through and through to determine if it’s the online traffic school for YOU.

So let’s get to it.

The Pros

If you study with Aceable, you’ll enjoy:

  • Great website design
  • Modern content
  • Interactive courses
  • Fun and engaging lessons
  • Easy to pass exam
  • Convenience with stellar mobile apps
  • Effective customer service

The thing about Aceable is that being a newcomer, they aren’t using course materials made 20 years ago. This makes their course the most modern and user-friendly ones around, continually updated to keep it that way.

With other courses, you often have to endure videos that were shot in the late 90s, but with Aceable, you won't have to face grainy or plain outdated content.

Their content, which includes videos, animations, and simulations, is all ahead of the traffic school pack in terms of their style and modernity.

Throughout the course, you're guided by Aceable's robot mascot called Ace, who makes the whole process simpler by explaining everything as you go along.

The content is also super engaging with actual simulations.

These let you try out safety skills in a safe and secure setting, making the course actually beneficial instead of some dull text that you'll probably forget after the final test.

Add to that the witty memes and jokes that make for a fun experience, which is so much better than what we typically expect from traffic school.

Also, unlike other online traffic schools, Aceable’s mobile applications are excellent on both IOS and Android devices. With near 5 star reviews based on thousands of clients on both platforms, there’s no need to worry about crashing apps here.

Aceable hands down has the best customer service in the industry with multiple ways of reaching out through social media, instant chat, and phone numbers for direct and instant responses.

This, along with their YouTube channel full of useful information, makes the whole thing confusion-free and saves a lot of time as you won’t have to scour the internet in search of information that may or may not be correct.

The Cons

The downsides to Aceable are:

  • Not available in most states
  • On the pricier side

The biggest con about Aceable is that its defensive driving/traffic school courses are only approved in a few select states.

While they've only been around for less than a decade, it still is a big letdown that you can't take their fun course in most of the country.

Another con is that Aceable is often slightly higher priced in comparison to other similar courses.

Of course, other courses don't offer all the extra features that Aceable provides, but it can restrict you from taking the course if you're on a tight budget.

While not a con per se, another thing to consider is that this course was designed with young adults in mind. While you’ll still like the course if you’re a bit older, the humor may not make much sense if you're not aware of 'meme culture.

Alternatives

It’s always good to have a selection of online traffic schools at your disposal.

If not Aceable, here are some great alternatives to consider.

Improv

Defensive Driving School Review Improv

Improv is another great traffic school with a sense of humor much more approachable for people of all ages.

Designed by driving safety specialists and comedians, they've made a video lecture course that is both educational and hilarious.

They've also designed the traffic/defensive driving course to be as easy as possible. They did this by meeting the minimum requirements for each state they offer their courses.

Highly experienced in the driving industry and affiliated with GEICO, they're a perfect choice if you're looking to reduce your insurance costs or dismiss a ticket in the funnest way possible.

Improv is a great alternative to Aceable offering a fun course that is available in almost every state.

Defensive Driving School Review GoToTrafficSchool

If you are looking for the lowest price possible, then GoToTrafficSchool is the one for you.

They promise to match any price that is cheaper than theirs, meaning they'll always be the cheapest option no matter where you live!

However, don't expect any frills here. The course is basic and pretty dragging, especially if you decide to complete the whole thing in one go.

But if you're tight on cash, then this is a good online traffic school worth considering.
