Need to take a driver’s ed course but don’t know where?

There are a lot of driving schools in Jacksonville that offer this course. The problem is that they may not give you the best bang for your buck.

And you might not even get the most out of it.

So instead of wasting money on a not-so-good driver’s ed, I’ve compiled the best driving schools in Jacksonville, Florida that will give the best course experience.

Let’s get down to it.

Best Online Driver’s Ed in Jacksonville

Florida allows an online course for the required driver’s ed.

That’s a big relief since online driving schools are much more affordable and convenient compared to physical driving schools.

Here are the best online driving schools that you should consider when taking your driver’s ed:

  1. Aceable
  2. iDriveSafely
  3. DriversEd.com
  4. MyImprov.com
  5. Teen Driver Education

Let’s take a look at each school in more detail.

Aceable

Best Driving Schools in Jacksonville, Florida Aceable

One of the favorite driving schools is Aceable

Aceable has a very user-friendly interface, which makes it easy for you to navigate their site.

But that’s not the main reason why people love it.

What Aceable does differently than the others is having its own mobile app where you can access all the courses that you enrolled in. In other words, you can learn anytime, anywhere!

To add to that, Aceable itself is an approved third-party test provider. So instead of having to go to the Driver License Office, you can just take the written test online (in the app, too!).

With these features alone, it’s easy to fall in love with Aceable. It’s so convenient to use and it’s very simple. I’m sure teenagers will enjoy taking their modern, engaging, and interactive course, too.

Best Driving Schools in Jacksonville, Florida iDriveSafely

Another noteworthy online driving school is iDriveSafely

iDriveSafely offers very affordable courses that are fun, engaging, and informative. And they’re all 100% online!

If you want to listen to entertaining course material, iDriveSafely does a good job at this.

There are two options that you can choose from - one is just the course and the other includes an online written test.

But keep in mind that you only have three tries to pass it or else you’ll have to take the written test at the Driver License Office.

Best Driving Schools in Jacksonville, Florida DriversEd

Looking for an online driving school that has practice tests? Then you have to check out DriversEd.com. They have permit practice tests available for a very small fee.

DriversEd.com has over 25 years of experience and has received at least 6,000 reviews.

And what’s impressive is that among those reviews, this driving school has gotten an average of 4.5 stars. This is enough to convince anyone that DriversEd.com is a great school.

But if you’re wondering why they’re loved by so many, it’s because of their short and easy chapters.

This course structure has made it easier for students to take in a lot of information more efficiently.

And since the course isn’t timed, there’s no pressure for you to finish right away.

Best Driving Schools in Jacksonville, Florida MyImprov

Looking for a fun way to learn your driver’s ed? MyImprov.com is the answer to your prayers.

MyImprov.com mixes laughter with learning. Its courses were made by actual improv performers and licensed driving professionals. You can be sure that there’s a great balance of education and humor.

MyImprov.com’s driver’s ed also comes with free practice tests. This is a great bonus since some driving schools charge extra for that.

After you take the course, the school automatically sends your course completion certificate.

However, you’ll have to choose a specific course package to avail of this. Although it will be slightly more expensive, it’s still a great deal considering you don’t have to go outside.

Best Driving Schools in Jacksonville, Florida Teen Driver Education

Last but not least is Teen Driver Education.

Teen Driver Education has both the required driver’s ed course and online permit test on its platform. It’s a very convenient choice for you.

What you’ll love about this online driving school is the simplicity of the course.

But for some people, they might argue that the course was too simple. In other words, it lacks the engagement that most teens want.

Nonetheless, Teen Driver Education has all the information you need to pass the written test. It’s a 4-hour course, and you’ll be given short clips, audio, and text slides throughout.

Unfortunately, I agree with others that their course could have been improved to be more engaging. That’s nothing serious, though, just preference.

Best In-Person Driving Schools in Jacksonville

Of course, you also have a choice to take in-person classes for your driver’s ed.

If you’re more comfortable being in a classroom, then here are my recommendations for the best schools:

All Florida Safety Institute

Address: 11655 Central Parkway Suite 303, Jacksonville, FL 32224

Phone: (904) 838-0055

All Florida Safety Institute is one of the best in-person driving schools in Jacksonville.

They have complete packages for both driver’s ed and driver training. The best part is that they offer private 1-on-1 sessions.

Unfortunately, for the driver’s ed course, it’s only available as a package in their 10-hour private classroom course.

That said, expect to pay at least $499 for the whole session.

I know, it’s a lot more expensive than the usual online driver’s ed.

Jax Driving School

Address: 9850 San Jose Blvd, Suite #2 Jacksonville, Fl 32257

Phone: (904) 554-7047

Jax Driving School is another good choice if you’re looking for classroom sessions on your required driver’s ed.

Compared to All Florida Safety Institute, you can just get the driver’s ed course as a single package. Hence, it’s more affordable.

Another good thing about Jax Driving School is that they offer classes both in English and in Spanish. So if you’re more fluent in Spanish, then you won’t have a hard time understanding the lessons.

FAQs

Is driver’s ed required in Florida?

Yes, it’s required for all first-time drivers in Florida.

What are the required driver’s ed courses?

In Florida, the two required driver’s ed courses are the 4-hour Drug and Alcohol Course and Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education Course (TLSAE).

These courses focus on how alcohol and drugs affect your driving abilities and the Florida laws that are enforced for these incidents.

How long does online driver’s ed take in Florida?

In Florida, driver’s ed is required to take 4 hours. So whether you study it in a traditional classroom or online, you have to spend at least 4 hours studying the courses.

Is an online driver’s ed better than an in-person driver’s ed?

If we’re talking about convenience and price, an online driver’s ed is definitely better.

It’s a lot cheaper (not even exceeding a hundred bucks) and it’s 100% online. Plus, some third-party providers let you take the written test online, too.

However, if you’re the kind of learner who feels more comfortable in a classroom setting, then you would prefer the in-person driver’s ed.

Overall, the better option all depends on YOU.

Conclusion

Finding the right school that offers the required driver’s ed is difficult, but with the help of this list, you already have an idea of where to go.

Hopefully, you find a school that fits your needs and helps prepare you for the exams.

Good luck!
